Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to and use of New London County Criminal History. Visiting a page, reading its content, or submitting a search means that you accept all terms below. Do not continue to use the site if you disagree with them.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website is not connected with any government body. Neither the site nor its advertising partners provides a service intended for credit, employment, tenant, insurance, or any other Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) purpose. The resource identifies official criminal-record channels serving New London County, Connecticut. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government affiliation. We do not store official criminal records, retrieve records, perform official checks, or submit documents for users.

Information routes readers to New London County's actual custodians: municipal police departments, Connecticut Superior Court, DESPP's State Police Bureau of Identification, CT DOC, and the Connecticut Sex Offender Registry. Some pages also connect to outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

As a condition of access, you will not:

  • Use bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools on our pages
  • Use site information to threaten, harass, or stalk a person
  • Interfere with the site's operation or another visitor's access
  • Use the site in violation of federal, state, or local law
  • Make lending, employment, insurance, or housing decisions from site content
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into any system or account

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Site or linked-tool information must not be used to harass, stalk, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate against anyone. Connecticut's registry law, including C.G.S. § 54-258, requires a warning against misuse of Connecticut Sex Offender Registry information. Registry data supports public safety awareness, not vigilantism or unlawful discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and create no background check, credit report, or other consumer report. Our advertising partners and this site do not offer tools intended to judge credit, insurance, employment, or rental eligibility. You therefore may not use site or linked-tool data to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A check for an FCRA-regulated purpose must come through a legally appropriate, FCRA-compliant provider. This site and its tools cannot serve that function.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is not legal advice. General information about New London County records cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, or Connecticut erasure law applies to an individual matter. Consult a Connecticut-licensed attorney for legal guidance.

6. No Warranties

All content and services are offered "as is." We make no promise that:

  • A partner search result will be accurate or complete
  • Information will always be current, complete, or correct
  • Pages contain no bugs, errors, or security weaknesses
  • The site will operate continuously without interruption

Criminal records change as charges are filed, amended, dismissed, or erased. Gaps and delays can occur. Nothing here is an official statement from a police department, court, SPBI, CT DOC, or another government agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to police pages, court portals, Connecticut agencies, legal-aid organizations, or outside search services. We do not control a destination's content, privacy practices, charges, or availability. Review its terms before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to New London County Criminal History or its content partners. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from them without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim liability for losses arising from site use, including reliance on content obtained here or from a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You will indemnify and hold us harmless against claims, demands, or proceedings caused by your site use or breach of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Connecticut law governs these terms. Any dispute arising from use of the site must be filed in a court located in Connecticut. Public access to Connecticut records remains subject to the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act, C.G.S. §§ 1-200 through 1-242, and State Police criminal-history dissemination is governed by C.G.S. § 29-11.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms at any time. A revision becomes effective when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

We reserve the right to restrict or end access at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, all other provisions remain in force. The affected language will be modified only as far as necessary to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be submitted through the Contact page.
